Golden Corral Restaurants Host Fund Raiser For CHKD
HAMPTON ROADS, Va.- Farm Fresh associates, customers and vendors teamed up March 13 - April 6 during a unique in-store fundraiser to collect $285,650 to help children with cancer at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
There's a "golden" opportunity for area residents to help Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters and to receive a free dinner for their children. All Golden Corral restaurants in the region will be hosting "Miracle Night" May 28 from 5 to 9 p.m. to benefit CHKD. For a minimum donation of $1, diners will receive a free kid's meal the with purchase of an adult entrée. And patrons also can purchase CHKD Miracle Balloons for each additional $1 donation.
Participating Golden Corral restaurants are located in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg and in Ahoskie, Elizabeth City and Edenton, N.C.
Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 and provides care to nearly 130,000 children each year as inpatients and outpatients, addressing routine and complex illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions. The CHKD Health System operates primary care pediatric practices, surgical practices, multi-service Health Centers and satellite offices throughout its service region. The System also includes a child care center, Center for Pediatric Research, health education initiatives and a multitude of avenues through which our very generous community provides philanthropic support, including numerous Thrift Store locations.
