New Children’s Health Foundation Board Members Named

HAMPTON ROADS, Va.—Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters recently appointed Elizabeth F. Middleton of Virginia Beach and Stewart P. “Tom” Mitchell of Newport News to the board of directors of the hospital’s Children’s Health Foundation.
The Children’s Health Foundation board is charged with establishing sound investment policies resulting in the conservation and protection of assess related to the charitable, educational and scientific areas of CHKD.
The new appointees will serve three-year terms.
Middleton is secretary/treasurer of E.G. Middleton Inc., electrical contractors, and is chairman of the President’s Advisory Council of Virginia Wesleyan College.
Mitchell is chief financial officer of Ferguson Enterprises and serves on boards/committees of various local charitable organizations, including Boy Scouts, Newport News Education Foundation, Industrial Development Authority and United Way.
CHKD is the regional pediatric referral center serving Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 on the philosophy children deserve the highest quality of medical care regardless of their family’s ability to pay. Today, CHKD experts treat nearly 130,000 patients annually through dozens of inpatient services and outpatient programs covering the routine issues of childhood and the extreme complexities of chronic diseases and traumatic injuries.
