VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The CHKD Health Center at Strawbridge, a facility of The Childen’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters Health System, will host an open house to introduce patients and neighbors to its new location from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6. The Center, located at 2117 McComas Way (adjacent to Strawbridge Marketplace behind Friendly’s), home to CHKD Medical Group’s General Booth Pediatrics, pediatric specialists and surgeons, and laboratory services. Parents and their children can enjoy a variety of activities and events including:
  • Car seat safety checks and car seat raffle
  • Virginia Beach Fire Department, and fire safety information
  • Virginia Beach Bike Patrol, bike safety demonstrations
  • CHKD’s mobile intensive care unit
  • CHKD’s Healthy Bear
  • Face Painting
  • Refreshments
  • The Health Center at Strawbridge opened in August to offer expanded services to patients and families. In addition to five pediatricians who provide primary care, the Center offers access to CHKD pediatric surgeons and specialists. Departments include allergy, cardiology, dermatology, developmental pediatrics, endocrinology, gastroenterology, genetics, neurology and urology. A CHKD laboratory is also on-site, providing added convenience. General Booth Pediatrics’ previous location, 2117 General Booth Blvd., is now home to a new CHKD Satellite facility which offers physical, occupational and speech therapy services. Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina.
