SURGEON JOINS CHKD SURGICAL GROUP PRACTICE
HAMPTON ROADS, Va.—Samuel M. Mahaffey, M.D., has joined CHKD Surgical Group’s general pediatric surgery practice located at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, 601 Children’s Lane, Norfolk.
Mahaffey, who also holds a master’s degree in business administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, was most recently president and COO of healthcare software company StatCom in Atlanta. Prior to that, he held important faculty and surgical staff positions at Duke University and the University of Florida. He received his medical degree from the West Virginia University and followed with residencies in pediatrics, general surgery and pediatric surgery. Mahaffey is board certified in pediatric surgery, surgical critical care and general surgery.
