HAMPTON ROADS (Va.) – Shopping for the latest home and garden products -- and socializing – is on the agenda for The Hampton Roads Home & Garden Show Preview Party, 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, April 14, at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. The event, which will benefit the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughter’s Health Center at Oyster Point, offers a first look at one of the area’s largest home and garden shows. The show opens to the public from 6 to 9 p.m. A wine and beer tasting, delicious food and jazz music are all part of the package. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the CHKD Health Center, from Peninsula Housing and Builders Association, or by calling CHKD at (757) 688-7070. CHKD’s Health Center at Oyster Point, 11783 Rock Landing Drive, Newport News, is the hospital’s first permanent home on the Peninsula. It offers families convenient access to primary care; rehabilitative therapies, diagnostic and laboratory services as well as evaluation, treatment and follow-up care in more than a dozen pediatric specialties. Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 and provides care to approximately 160,000 children each year as inpatients and outpatients, addressing routine and complex illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions. The Peninsula Housing and Builders Association’s Hampton Roads Home & Garden Show runs 6-9 p.m. Thursday, April 14; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 15-16; and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, April 17.
