HAMPTON ROADS, Va.—Three area residents were recently named to the board of directors of the CHKD Health System. They are:
  • Robert M. Boyd of Virginia Beach. Boyd is regional president, Hampton Roads region, BB&T of Virginia.
  • Donald Nuss, M.D., of Norfolk. Nuss is vice president of surgical affairs for Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and practices with CHKD Surgical Group’s general pediatric surgery practice. He also is a professor in the department of surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
  • Cynthia Kelly, M.D., of Norfolk. Kelly is a pediatric immunologist and practices with the Children’s Specialty Group located at CHKD. She also is an associate professor in the department of pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
  • Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 and provides care to approximately 160,000 children each year as inpatients and outpatients, addressing routine and complex illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions. The CHKD Health System operates CHKD as well as primary care pediatric practices, surgical practices, multi-service Health Centers and satellite offices throughout its service region.
