NEWPORT NEWS – The Virginia Peninsula Car Club Council, in association with the City of Newport News, will present The Virginia Fall Classic Car/Bike Show to benefit Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters Oct. 21-23. In addition to the car, truck and bike show, the third annual event will feature cruise-ins, a special dinner and music, and the concluding Fall Run. Last year’s event was attended by thousands of spectators and raised more than $18,000 for CHKD. The car show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Newport News City Park, 13560 Jefferson Avenue. Hundreds of cars, trucks, hot rods, classics, imports, exotics, motorcycles and race cars will be on display. A highlight will be an exhibition of movie and television theme cars. There will also be a swap meet, food vendors and activities for children. A $2 donation is suggested for spectator parking. A dinner with special music will precede the show and will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, at Ferguson Enterprises Inc., 12500 Jefferson Avenue. A $5 pre-paid donation is suggested. The dinner will be followed by the “Kasual Kruz” ($5 donation) and the “Kool Lights and Big Sounds” audio-visual extravaganza ($20). On Sunday, Oct. 23, the Fall Run, a scenic drive taken at a leisurely pace, will start at 10:30 a.m. at Newport News City Park. The cost is $5 per vehicle.
