Grand Opening to Benefit CHKD, Nov. 5

VIRGINIA BEACH – Jimmy Buffett’s famed song will come to life when Cheeseburger in Paradise, located at 739 Lynnhaven Parkway, hosts a grand opening celebration to benefit Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. The event will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, November 5. Tickets are $25 and include the restaurant’s fun island fare, two drink tickets and live entertainment. To purchase tickets, call CHKD at 668-7070. Beyond the famed signature cheeseburger, the restaurant features traditional American favorites, fresh fish dishes, house specialties prepared with Caribbean flair and New Orleans-inspired creations. The restaurant includes a main dining room, an extensive bar and an outdoor patio. The Key West-style structure features a tin and weathered wood water tower and brightly painted latticework reminiscent of the Caribbean. Island decor and nautical sports paraphernalia are scattered throughout the restaurant and tabletops are covered with an assortment of photographs of tropical water scenes. Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 and provides care to approximately 160,000 children each year as inpatients and outpatients, addressing routine and complex illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions. The CHKD Health System operates primary care pediatric practices, surgical practices, multi-service Health Centers and satellite offices throughout its service region.
