Free Parents' Workshop Series Presented by CHKD and Kohl's

May 18: “Uncommon solutions to everyday behavioral problems”

HAMPTON ROADS, Va.—The eighth in a year-long series of parenting workshops on developing better relationships with children will be presented by Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and Kohl’s Department Stores on May 18, 7-8:30 p.m., in the hospital’s Brickhouse Auditorium, 601 Children’s Lane, Norfolk. The workshop -- “Uncommon solutions to everyday behavioral problems” – will explore creative and effective solutions for the everyday challenges of life with young people – complaining, talking back, lying, fighting, disrespect, boredom, bad manners, laziness, whining, arguing, not listening and not cooperating. Attendees will learn basic steps to overcome these common challenges. Featured presenter for this workshop is Elizabeth Pantley, president of Better Beginnings Inc., a family resource and education company. She is the author of six parenting books, a frequently-quoted parenting expert in magazines and a popular national speaker on parenting. The workshop is free, but seating is limited and advance registration is requested. For more information or to register call (757) 668-7500 or visit www.chkd.org/calendar, where information about future workshops also is available. The lecture series is made possible by a $45,700 grant from Kohl’s through its Kohl’s Cares for Kids Campaign.
