Children's Fair at Homearama Charity House
Sunday, October 8, 2-4 p.m.
NORFOLK, Va. -- Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, Charlie Anderson Builder, Inc. and Bob FM will host "Uncle Charlie's All-American Kid's Carnival," Sunday, October 8, from 2-4 p.m., at the Tidewater Builder's Association's Homearama in Suffolk. The festivities will include face painting, games, music, refreshments and visits with CHKD's pet therapy dogs and hospital mascot, Healthy Bear. Activities will take place on the grounds of the CHKD Charity House. Admission to Homearama is required.
Homearama 2006 features 15 large, estate-style homes in a variety of styles ranging from traditional to Colonial to Mediterranean. Each is fully furnished and landscaped, with prices ranging from $800,000 to over $1 million. The homes are located at the Estates of Pitchkettle Farms, an Ainslie Widener development just off Route 58 in Suffolk.
The Homearama Charity House, which won five prestigious critics choice awards, was built by Charlie Anderson Builder, Inc, which has a long history of support for children's charities. All proceeds from the sale of the home will benefit Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. Last year's Homearama raised more than $77,000 for CHKD. In all, Homearamas have donated more than $1 million to local charities.
Homearama is open through October 15, from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from noon to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $10 per person. Children 12 and under are free. For more information on Homearama, log on to www.tbaonline.org or call 420-2334.
