Free Reading Time Workshop for Parents - “Growing Language Through Books”
Program demonstrates how to use books to develop children’s speech and language skills
HAMPTON, Va.—Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters will conduct a free reading time workshop for parents and their children (birth to 8 years old), January 27, 10:30-11:45 a.m., at the Coliseum Mall Barnes & Noble, 1800 W. Mercury Boulevard.
The highly popular hands-on, interactive program, titled “Read with the Experts – Growing Language Through Books,” will be presented by CHKD speech-language pathologists and will demonstrate how parents can use books to develop their child’s reading, writing and language skills. The program will include:

- 11-11:30 a.m. – Children are organized into age-appropriate groups for a reading of a children’s book by one of the CHKD specialists.
- 11:30-11:45 a.m. – Ask-the-expert question and answer time for parents.
