CHKD Health Foundation Board Elects New Chairman, Vice-Chairman
HAMPTON ROADS, Va.—The Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters Health Foundation board of directors has elected a new chairman and vice-chairman.
Mark R. Warden of Norfolk has been elected chairman. He is a principal and portfolio manager at Wilbanks, Smith & Thomas Asset Management, LLC. Mr. Warden was first elected to the CHKD Health Foundation board in 2001.
Edward A. “Buzz” Heidt Jr. of Virginia Beach has been elected vice-chairman. He is president/CEO of The Penrod Company. Mr. Heidt was first elected to the CHKD Health Foundation board in 2004.
The term of the chairman and vice-chairman is one year.
The CHKD Health Foundation manages the contributions from Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters supporters, providing funds for programs and research at the hospital.
Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 and last year handled approximately 6,100 inpatient admissions and 200,000 outpatient specialty, surgical and emergency room visits, addressing routine and complex illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions. The CHKD Health System operates primary care pediatric practices, surgical practices, multi-service Health Centers and satellite offices throughout its service region.
