CHKD Presents Teddy Bear Clinic at the Virginia Zoo

NORFOLK, Va. – Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters invites you to attend a children’s wellness fair, Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Virginia Zoo.

This pretend medical clinic will allow children to play parent to their favorite stuffed animal “children” and take them on a doctor’s visit. The stuffed animals will visit different stations covering a variety of wellness topics. CHKD professionals will be on hand with medical equipment to give families an in-depth look at medical procedures in hopes of calming children’s fears.

Other special activities will take place throughout the day, including animal presentations and area mascots. Radio Disney 1650 AM and the Fun Force Team will also have activities from 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Children 11 and under with a stuffed animal will receive free admission and an opportunity to take their plush friend to a clinic for check-ups. All programs and activities are included in regular Zoo admission.

An accredited American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) facility, the Virginia Zoo exhibits over 350 animals, beautifully manicured grounds and offers a fun-filled day for all. For more than a century, the Zoo has demonstrated a commitment to wildlife, conservation and education. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and we are located at 3500 Granby Street in Norfolk. Admission prices are $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors (age 62 and over), and $5.00 for children ages 2-11. Visit www.virginiazoo.org or call (757) 441-2374 for more information.
