Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club Celebration and Family Fun Day to Benefit CHKD
May 31, noon – 7 p.m.
HAMPTON ROADS, Va.—Wal-Mart stores & Sam’s Clubs from around the region will join together to host a Celebration and Family Fun Day to benefit CHKD this Thursday, noon-7 p.m., at the Sam’s Circle shopping center in Chesapeake, just off the Interstate-64 – Battlefield Boulevard exit.
The event will mark the stores’ “Miracle Month of May” and the corporation’s 20th year as a Children’s Miracle Network national sponsor.
There will be games, fun and activities for the whole family. The day will end with a singing competition beginning at 5:30 p.m., as each area store’s best singers compete for the title of “A Miracle Idol.” Celebrity judges will be Chuck, Jenna and Woo-Woo, morning DJs at radio station 94.9 The Point.

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 and last year handled approximately 6,100 inpatient admissions and 200,000 outpatient specialty, surgical and emergency room visits, addressing routine and complex illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions.
