First Mid-Atlantic Mustang Round-Up To Benefit CHKD, Oct. 6
HAMPTON ROADS, Va. --Peninsula Mustang Enthusiasts, in cooperation with Wynne Ford of Hampton, will present the first Mid-Atlantic Mustang Round-Up from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Wynne Ford, 1020 West Mercury Blvd. All proceeds will benefit Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.
In addition to the car show, there will be plenty to look at from automotive and crafts vendors, as well as a variety of food. Events will also include a human truck pull in which six-man teams will vie for top prizes and bragging rights by pulling a Ford F-250 with one ton of weight over a timed course. “Wynne Ford is proud to be the site of this wonderful event to raise funds for CHKD,” said Brian Wynne, president and owner. “We encourage everyone to come out to have a great time. The Peninsula Mustang Enthusiasts have done an incredible job planning this family event which has something for everyone.”
All money raised will be used to purchase equipment, fund research and provide patient care programs at Children's Hospital. CHKD is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 and last year handled approximately 6,100 inpatient admissions and 200,000 outpatient specialty, surgical and emergency room visits, addressing routine and complex illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions. The CHKD Health System operates primary care pediatric practices, surgical practices, multi-service Health Centers and satellite offices throughout its service region.
