Virginia Fall Classic Car/Bike Show to benefit CHKD, Oct. 26-28

NEWPORT NEWS – The Virginia Peninsula Car Club Council, in association with the City of Newport News, will present the 5th Annual Virginia Fall Classic at the Newport News City Park and Ferguson Enterprises Inc., Oct. 26-28. Events will include cruise-ins, dinner, music and car, truck and bike shows. All proceeds will benefit Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. Over the past four years more than $93,000 has been raised for the hospital. Funds from this year’s event are designated for a new X-ray machine for the CHKD Health Center at Oyster Point.
The festivities will begin with a dinner and cruise at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, at Ferguson Enterprises Inc., 12500 Jefferson Avenue. The car show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Newport News City Park, 13560 Jefferson Avenue. Car registration starts at 8 a.m. Hundreds of cars, trucks, hot rods, classics, imports, exotics, motorcycles and race cars will be on display. CHKD is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 and provides care to approximately 160,000 children each year as inpatients and outpatients, addressing routine and complex illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions.
