Free Workshop for Parents, Children Presented by CHKD and Kohl’s
September 27: Family Finances and Fitness
A free workshop, “Family Finances and Fitness: Keys to a Happier and Healthier Life,” will be presented Thursday, September 27, by Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and Kohl’s Department Stores. The program will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. in CHKD’s Brickhouse Auditorium, 601 Children’s Lane, Norfolk.
This fun and interactive presentation is designed to give parents and their children strategies to improve their nutrition, fitness and finances. Featured presenter is Richard T. Harris, a popular and motivating area speaker, author, certified financial planner and health and fitness instructor. His books for children include “I'm Walking, I'm Running, I'm Jumping, I'm Hopping,” “If I Had a Penny,” and “Who Taught You About Money?”
The workshop is free, but seating is limited and advance registration is requested. For more information or to register, call (757) 668-7500 or visit www.chkd.org/classes.
The workshops are part of a series of lectures to help parents and professionals build stronger relationships with their children. The series is made possible by a $56,000 grant from Kohl’s through the Kohl’s Care for Kids campaign.
