CHKD Bioethics Advisory Committee Hosts Free Evening of Film and Discussion

HAMPTON ROADS, Va.— The CHKD Bioethics Advisory Committee will host a free evening of inspiring film and discussion November 28, 7:15-10 p.m., at the Naro Expanded Cinema, 1507 Colley Avenue, Norfolk.

The program will feature a presentation of “John Q,” a film about a father who after learning medical insurers will not pay for his son’s needed heart transplant, takes doctors, staffers and patients hostage at a Chicago hospital emergency room

Following the film, CHKD pediatric neurologist Ralph Northam, M.D., and CHKD executive medical director Albert Finch, M.D., will lead a discussion on ethical issues and how they impact decisions, care and treatment.
