Free Workshop for Parents and Children Presented by CHKD and Kohl’s
January 31, 7-8:30 p.m.: “No Bullies Allowed!”
HAMPTON ROADS, Va.— A free workshop -- “No Bullies Allowed!” -- will be presented January 31, 7-8:30 p.m., in CHKD’s Brickhouse Auditorium, 601 Children’s Lane, Norfolk.
Stress management consultant Cris Johnson will use an entertaining variety of magic, mind reading, humor and group participation to help parents and children explore the social and personal problem of bullying. Attendees will learn bullying isn’t always physical; it also can take the form of name-calling and internet slander. And they’ll learn simple, non-confrontational techniques to deal with bullies. Children in grades K-8 are encouraged to attend with their parents.
Johnson is a certified stress management consultant who presents topical and lively programs to children and adults of all ages. His company, Phantasms Magic Productions, has presented hundreds of company development programs, school assemblies and private events throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The workshop is free, but seating is limited and advance registration is requested. For more information or to register, call (757) 668-7500 or visit www.chkd.org/classes.
The program is co-presented by Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and Kohl’s Department Stores as part of a year-long series of lectures to help parents and professionals build stronger relationships with their children. The series is made possible by a $56,000 grant from Kohl’s through the Kohl’s Cares for Kids Campaign.
