Pediatric Neurosurgeon Joins CHKD Surgical Group
NORFOLK, Va. - Drs. Joseph Dilustro and Jerry Penix are pleased to welcome Dr. Leslie Acakpo-Satchivi to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters’ neurosurgery practice. Prior to joining CHKD, Dr. Satchivi was an assistant professor of pediatric neurosurgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the Children's Hospital of Alabama.
Dr. Satchivi will focus on all aspects of patient care related to pediatric neurological surgery, including neurosurgical oncology, trauma and critical care. His special areas of interest include hydrocephalus, brain and spine trauma and the treatment of complex spinal disorders. Dr. Satchivi received his MD and PhD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the Ohio State University Medical Center. He served as a fellow in pediatric neurosurgery at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is board-eligible in general and pediatric neurosurgery.
