The 3-story, 62,000-square-foot, $21.6 million center is home to Virginia Beach’s first ambulatory surgery facility exclusively for children. CHKD’s signature pediatric surgery experience will be offered in specialties such as orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology and ear, nose and throat surgery. The new operating rooms are also equipped for a variety of non-operative gastrointestinal, ophthalmic, plastic and laser procedures.
Area families will also find primary care pediatricians and in-house radiology and lab services at the new center.
Plus, they’ll have convenient access to specialty care pediatricians for help with chronic problems such as asthma and diabetes. CHKD’s highly acclaimed child abuse program will have services there. And children who need speech, physical, occupational or sports medicine therapy can get the ongoing care they require close to home.
During the open house, physicians, nurses, therapists and other CHKD employees will answer questions about the center’s services and programs.
