94.9 The Point Radiothon to Benefit CHKD, Dec. 10-13
HAMPTON ROADS, Va. -- Radio station 94.9 The Point (WPTE FM 94.9) will broadcast its annual radiothon to benefit Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters live from the hospital’s lobby Dec. 10-13. Morning show hosts Chuck, Heather and WooWoo will share stories of courage and hope as they interview patient families on air. They will broadcast from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 10-12 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 13. All money raised will be used to purchase equipment, fund research and provide patient care programs at Children's Hospital. Listeners can phone in pledges during the radiothon by calling (757) 668-9000.
Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 and last year handled approximately 6,200 inpatient admissions and 219,500 outpatient specialty, surgical and emergency room visits, addressing routine and complex illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions. The CHKD Health System operates primary care pediatric practices, surgical practices, multi-service Health Centers and satellite offices throughout its service region. The organization also includes a child care center, health education initiatives and a multitude of avenues through which our very generous community provides philanthropic support.
