Kohl’s sponsored public programs in March

HAMPTON ROADS, VA – The following free public programs are sponsored by CHKD and Kohl’s Department Store.

  • March 25, Raising a Winning Family, Free. 7-8:30 p.m. Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, Brickhouse Auditorium, 2nd floor. Join Jeff Yalden for an entertaining evening as he shares fundamental principles of creating a winning family. A father of two teenage daughters and author of numerous books on raising teenagers, he will discuss the importance of parental involvement and what that means, and show how to successfully connect with your children.   • March 16, Inhalant Use- Is Your Child at Risk? Free. 7-9 p.m. CHKD Health and Surgery Center at Oyster Point, 11783 Rock Landing Drive, Newport News. Sgt. Jeff Williams, an Ohio K-9 officer who lost his 14-year-old son to inhalant use, will explain what inhalants are, how they are abused, the damage they do, signs and symptoms of use, and how to talk to your child about inhalant abuse. These programs are co-presented by CHKD and Kohl’s Department Stores as part of a series of lectures on children’s health and wellness. The series is made possible by a $68,900 grant from Kohl’s through the Kohl’s Cares for Kids campaign.
