Pediatric Surgeon Joins CHKD Surgical Group
NORFOLK, Va. –- Dr. Frazier Frantz, a board certified general pediatric surgeon, has joined Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters’ Pediatric General Surgical Group. Other surgeons in the group include Dr. Michael Goretsky, Dr. Robert Kelly, Dr. Ann Kuhn, Dr. Donald Nuss, Dr. Samuel Mahaffey and Dr. Robert Obermeyer.
World-renowned for its groundbreaking work in the field of chest wall deformities, the CHKD group is the region's only general surgical practice dedicated exclusively to children. Its surgeons provide diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical care for a comprehensive range of diseases and conditions in children from birth to age 21. They also consult with expectant parents regarding conditions diagnosed in unborn children.
Prior to joining CHKD, Dr. Frantz served as the Head of the Division of Pediatric Surgery at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth for the past 12 years. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy and Duke University School of Medicine, Dr. Frantz completed his general surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia and his pediatric surgery fellowship at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. His special clinical interests include surgical treatment of colorectal diseases in children, congenital chest wall deformities and vascular anomalies.
