94.9 The Point to Host Annual Radiothon and Change Bandits Program to Benefit CHKD
HAMPTON ROADS, Va. -- Radio station 94.9 The Point (WPTE FM 94.9) will broadcast a four-day radiothon to benefit Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters Sept. 13-16. Afternoon Point hosts Chuck and Woo Woo will broadcast live from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 9-11; and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12.
This will be the eighth year that 94.9 The Point take to the airwaves to raise money for CHKD. During all four days of the radiothon, listeners will hear amazing stories of CHKD patients who have overcome great odds to beat illnesses such as cancer and premature birth, and who have survived traumatic events such as car accidents and fires.
Change Bandits will also be rolling into town once again during the month of November. Individuals and organizations can volunteer to wrangle spare change from their co-workers, classmates, family and friends for CHKD. Change Bandits has raised more than $100,000, and with your help we’re aiming even higher this year. All individuals can register for Change Bandits at www.chkd.org/changebandits.
All money raised will be used to purchase equipment, fund research and provide patient care programs at Children's Hospital. Listeners can phone in pledges during the Radiothon by calling (757) 668-9000.
