Kohl’s sponsored free public program in December

HAMPTON ROADS, Va.—The following free public program sponsoredby Kohl’s department stores will be offered by CHKD Health System in December.

December 3, Kids, Parents and Power Struggles. Free. 7 – 9 p.m. Children'sHospital of The King's Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk. Would you like to take the “fight” out of bedtime, homework, dressing, chores, curfews, and other typical daily hassles? Is it important to you for children to listen to you and work with you? Would you like to help children be more “stress resistant.” Join Mary Sheedy Kurcinka to learn how to develop win-win solutions, help your child cope with stress and develop strategies for helping siblings solve their own disagreements. In addition, learn why some people need to “think” about problems while others need to “talk” about them. Register online at

These courses are co-presented by CHKD and Kohl’s Department Stores as part of a series of lectures on children’s health and wellness. The series is made possible by a $103,898 grant from Kohl’s through the Kohl’s Cares for Kids campaign.
