CHKD to present at Tallwood Child Abuse Forum

HAMPTON ROADS, VA. – Members of the Child Abuse Program at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters will present alongside Virginia Beach representatives from Child Protective Services, Police Department, and Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office to address Child Abuse at the 3rd Annual Child Abuse Forum on April 16 at Virginia Beach’s Tallwood High School.

The goal of this forum is to provide students and staff information that demonstrates how a community team of experts works together to protect the health and well-being of a child victim of abuse.

Among the presenters from CHKD’s Child Abuse Program will be Dr. Michelle Clayton , a pediatric forensic pediatrician, Michele Thames, a forensic interviewer; and Kathy Phillips, a medical case manager; and Sponsored by CHKD and Virginia Beach City Schools, the forum will be held in the Tallwood High School Auditorium, 1668 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, from 8:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
