CHKD free public programs in August

HAMPTON ROADS, Va.—The following free public programs will be offered by CHKD in August.

August 4, More Fun, Less Stress for your family. Free. 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. CHKD Health and Surgery Center at Princess Anne, 2021 Concert Drive, Virginia Beach. Hear how a busy lifestyle can negatively affect children and learn some ways to ease stress in the family. Register online at www.chkd.org/classes.

August 4, Welcome, Baby! At Pediatric Specialists. Free. 6-7 p.m. Pediatric Specialists -- Amelia Building, 885 Kempsville Road, Suite 200, Norfolk. For expectant and new parents who want to learn how to prepare for their newborn. Our pediatrician will discuss newborn medical care issues, including immunizations, breastfeeding, bathing, sleep safety and more. August 12, The How, Why and What I Do About Teen Behavior. Free. 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. CHKD Health and Surgery Center at Princess Anne, 2021 Concert Drive, Virginia Beach. If you have a teen who uses poor judgment and makes decisions that are not rational or well-considered, you are not alone. Learn of the development of teen brains, including new research findings that can help you understand why teenagers' choices and behaviors can baffle adults.
