New facility brings pediatric X-ray, lab services and therapies to Suffolk
SUFFOLK, Va.— Children in Suffolk who require lab work or X-rays will no longer have to travel to Newport News or Norfolk to get them.
On June 4, CHKD will open a new health center in Applewood Office Park at 152 Burnetts Way that offers not only labs and X-rays but therapies as well.
The former home of Suffolk Pediatrics, the building has been completely renovated to offer the only dedicated pediatric lab and X-ray services in Suffolk. It also brings physical, occupational and speech therapies closer to patients who would otherwise have to travel to the CHKD Health Center at Harbor View.
It takes special training and experience to help children stay calm and still during blood tests and X-rays, and on track during physical, occupational and speech therapies. CHKD devotes 100 percent of its care to children and trains every caregiver to work only with children and teens.
The new facility is part of CHKD’s commitment to bring the best pediatric services closer to the patients who need them. Call 668-2185 for pediatric lab services or 668-2191 for pediatric X-ray services. No appointments are necessary for X-rays and labs. To make an appointment with a pediatric physical, occupational or speech therapist, call 668-2150.
