Kohl’s Cares® donates $116,919 to support parenting efforts
HAMPTON ROADS, Va.— Kohl’s Department Store, through the Kohl’s Cares cause merchandise program, donated $116,919 to CHKD, bringing its total gift amount to $669,312.
“Since 2004, Kohl’s has supported programs that help CHKD improve the health and well-being of area children by teaching parenting skills to parents and professionals throughout the region,” said Sam Fabian, CHKD community outreach program manager.
Kohl’s presented the check to CHKD at a September 25 program underwritten by Kohl's Cares® Family Forum on raising self-reliant children in a self-indulgent world, a program featuring nationally renowned author and speaker Dr. Jane Nelson.
Dr. Nelson’s seminar was one of dozens sponsored by Kohl’s each year. Last year, Kohl’s sponsored 53 school-based programs, reaching over 8,000 students in the Hampton Roads region, brought in 9 national speakers and 33 local experts in a variety of topics that reached 2,500 parents and professionals.
In upcoming year, Kohl’s will continue sponsor school-based programs and bring in nationally known speakers to address a variety of hot parenting topics.
