Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon Joins CHKD Surgical Group

 

NORFOLK, VA –- Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters is pleased to welcome Dr. Benjamin Peeler as medical director of its cardiac surgery program. As part of CHKD’s comprehensive pediatric cardiac center, Dr. Peeler will perform a full spectrum of pediatric cardiothoracic procedures on children born with complex cardiac defects.

Nationally-recognized as an expert in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Peeler received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University and completed his general surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Peeler continued his training with a fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center.  He completed a third fellowship in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery at Emory University. Dr. Peeler is board-certified in general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and pediatric cardiothoracic surgery.
