Services Provided by Urgent Care

Our Urgent Care centers are staffed by board-certified pediatricians, pediatric nurses and pediatric-trained nurse practitioners and physician assistants who work all day, every day, with children. We take care of all sized kids, from toddlers to teens, and have X-ray and lab services on site.

Whether it’s a sudden illness or an on-field injury, our Urgent Care pediatricians are ready to take care of your child. We’ll also communicate back with your child’s regular doctor. If your child goes to a CHKD pediatric practice, we even share the same medical record.

If your child experiences a life-threatening emergency, call 911. But for everything else that can’t wait until tomorrow, turn to the experts at CHKD Urgent Care at one of our three locations: Volvo Parkway in Chesapeake, Loehmann's Plaza in Virginia Beach or Tech Center in Newport News.

Conditions we treat, but are not limited to, include:

  • Cough and wheezing
  • Head injury/concussion
  • Lacerations with or without stitches
  • Minor sports injuries
  • Fever (in children older than 2 months)
  • Stomach aches
  • Vomiting
