The National Weather Service has issued a warning of a "winter weather bomb cyclone" for the East Coast of the United States, with expected blizzard conditions and high winds.

Snow is expected to begin falling during Wednesday evening rush hour with temperatures falling into the 20s, gusting winds, and accumulating snow of up to 8 inches.

This can impact driving conditions, so allow for extra time in your commute to work. Icing conditions on the roadway are not expected as a result of the low temperatures.

Recommended Actions:

  • Take steps to prepare your home and vehicle for low temperatures and snowy conditions.
  • Plan extra time to commute to your workplace.
  • Monitor your local news outlets for up-to-date information.
  • Updates on Hospital Operating Status will be posted on KDNet and the weather hotline if deemed necessary.
  • Stay informed of your departmental preparatory actions through your supervisors.
