John A. Fox, MD - Dr. Fox serves as a staff pediatric orthopedic surgeon whose clinical practice specializes in management of musculoskeletal disease in children and adolescents. His practice includes treatment of spinal deformity, management of multi-trauma, congenital limb abnormality and sports medicine. His special interests include hip dysplasia, cerebral palsy and scoliosis.
Educated at Amherst College in Massachusetts and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Fox did his general surgery and orthopedic surgery residencies at Duke University Medical Center. He completed training in pediatric orthopedic surgery as an Edwards Fellow in Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. He held a faculty position at Vanderbilt University prior to coming to CHKD.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Fox holds memberships in the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Scoliosis Research Society. He also serves on the faculty of Eastern Virginia Medical School as assistant professor of orthopedics.
