We have special events all year long hosted by individuals, businesses and organizations throughout our community. If you would like to host an event to benefit our kids, please contact our development office at 668-7070.

Go to the Max with Kohl's!

Kohl's is taking $5 to the Max this summer, offering exclusive editions of "Duck at the Door" and "Duck Soup" by New York Times best-selling author/illustrator Jackie Urbanovic. Coordinating plush toys of characters Max the Duck and Brody the Dog are also available. Books and toys retail for $5 a piece. 100% of the proceeeds from sales in our community will be donated to support outreach and education programs such as those at King's Daughters through the Kohl's Cares for Kids program.  Stop by Kohl's and pick up one - or many! - today!

Order your favorite magazine and support CHKD

Anthem LemonAid

Save the Date!  On July 17th, 18th and 19th, Anthem presents their 8th Annual Anthem LemonAid fundraiser to help fight cancer.  Sign up to host your own LemonAid stand, and you will receive a kit with everything you need to be a success - lemonade mix, cups, a pitcher and promotional signage.  All you need to provide is a location, water and ice.  Lemonade sells for a $1 donation, and will support your local Children's Miracle Network hospital, CHKD. For more information and registration, visit www.childrensmiraclenetwork.net/lemonaid/hampton-roads/.

3rd Annual Outer Banks Charity Auto Show

Food Lion 2503 in the Outer Banks and Light Up Sound Off Inc. are teaming together to put on the 3rd Annual Outer Banks Charity Auto Show to benefit CHKD through Children's Miracle Network.  On Friday, July 24th, stop by Hooters in Kitty Hawk for the Night Owl Round Up custom auto lighting show beginning at 9 a.m. On Saturday, July 25th, the main event will take place in the Food Lion parking lot at Mile Post 14.5 in Nags Head, NC, beginning at 11:00 a.m.   The entry fee for cars is $25.  There will be fun for the whole family, including food vendors, activities, games, and much much more!  For more information including how to enter your car contact George Etheridge at 252-305-0783 or Delia Etheridge at 252-441-4118, or click here.

Chincoteague Pony Swim and Auction

Experience the thrill of seeing wild ponies while helping the kids at CHKD! In conjunction with the annual pony swim through the Assateague Channel at Chincoteague Memorial Park, the annual auction of Ponies owned by the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company will occur on Thursday, July 30, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. A selected pony will be auctioned off during this event and proceeds will benefit CHKD. The highest bidder will get the satisfaction of buying a registered Chincoteague pony and turning it back to freedom to roam the wilds of Assateague for the rest of its life. The bidder also has the opportunity to have their picture taken with the pony and visit it year after year when they are rounded up for this annual event. Colonial Virginia Aeromodlers Shoot for a Cure- Paintball Shoot

Join CVA for a day of fun! The event runs from 11am-3pm at the CVA Club Field. Food and drinks will be sold on site. There is a $20 fee for all day when you provide your own paintball gun and paintballs and a $10 fee for gun rental and first 100 paintballs. CVA will be providing R/C Airplanes as moving targets to test your skills!

Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day

Giving never tasted so sweet! Visit your local Dairy Queen on Thursday, August 13th and enjoy a "Miracle Treat" to help the kids. 2009 Neptune Festival Endless Summer Beach Bash

As summer cools down, the parties heat up - hit the beach one more time at the 2009 Neptune Festival Endless Summer Beach Bash to benefit CHKD. The festive evening at the Cavalier Beach Club annually welcomes more than 600 guests in imaginative attire from black-tie to island wear dancing to a hip, upbeat live band, Right On.  And of course, there will be all the fine food, endless beverages and excitement that make this party unforgettable All proceeds will benefit the CHKD Virginia Beach Health & Surgery Center. Knights of Pythias Charity Poker Run

Take a ride with the Knights of Pythias Beach Lodge 169/Charity Lodge 10 on Sunday, September 13th for their annual Bobby Riggs Charity Poker Run to benefit CHKD.  Registration is from 8 to 10 a.m. at Beach Lodge, 3467 Azalea Garden Road, Norfolk, VA 23513, with the last rider heading out at 11 a.m. and returning by 1 p.m.  Registration fee is $15 for rider and $10 for passenger and includes light breakfast snacks and lunch. Mid-Atlantic Mustang Round-up

Calling All Mustang Enthusiasts! Join Wynne Ford in Hampton, VA for the Third Annual Mid-Atlantic Mustang Round-up on Saturday, October 10th from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.  Car show awards include Club Participation, Longest Distance Traveled, Wynne Ford Manager's Award & Others. Car registration is $20 prior to the show and $25 day of, with all proceeds benefiting CHKD.  The event is open to the public and fun for the entire family will be available. Farm Fresh Tailgate Gala

Enjoy an evening of great food, fine wine, fun and excitement at the fifth annual Farm Fresh Tailgate Gala – all for a great cause. The gala runs from 6:30 - 11 p.m. at Norfolk's Half Moone Cruise & Celebration Center.  Tickets are $100 per person or $175 a couple and include gourmet food, casino games, a silent auction, and live entertainment. All proceeds benefit the Farm Fresh Charitable Foundation, which supports CHKD.  For more information call 757-306-2080.

W.M. Jordan Golf Tournament

Hit the links with W.M. Jordan on Thursday, October 22nd at their 19th Annual Charity Golf Tournament to benefit CHKD. A shotgun start kicks off the tournament at 11:30 at the Gold Horseshoe Golf Resort in Williamsburg. Registration fees are $1,400 for a foursome or $850 for a team of two. 7th Annual Virginia Fall Classic

The Virginia Peninsula Car Club Council in association with the City of Newport News invites you to attend the 7th Annual Virginia Fall Classic held at the Newport News City Park and Ferguson Enterprises Inc. from October 23-25, 2009. Children's Miracle Network Torch Relay

Join CHKD, your local Children's Miracle Network hospital, as they participate in the nationwide Torch Relay! This 31-day relay will make its stop in Norfolk on Monday, October 26.
