The following events are sponsored/coordinated by CHKD's Office of Development. We have special events all year long hosted by individuals, businesses and organizations throughout our community. Go to the Max with Kohl's!

Kohl's is taking $5 to the MAX this season, offering exclusive editions of "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See", "10 Little Rubber Ducks", "Does A Kangaroo Have A Mother, Too?" and "The Very Busy Spider" by author Eric Carle. Coordinating plush toys from each book are also available. Books and toys retail for $5 a piece. 100% of the proceeds from the sales in our community will be donated to support outreach and education programs such as those at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters through the Kohl's Cares for Kids program. Stop by any local Kohl's and pick up one-or many!-today!

Party With A Purpose

Planning on having a holiday party with colleagues, friends or family? Giving a party around the holidays can have many wonderful rewards, but none can compare to the special feeling you'll get from giving a party that helps the children of our community. That's what will happen when you host a Party With A Purpose! No Frill Bar & Grill Fundraiser for CHKD

No Frill Bar & Grill in Norfolk and Virginia Beach will donate $1 to CHKD for every appetizer and dessert sold during the month of February. Enjoy good food while helping the kids during this annual event.


Saturday, February 11
Princess Anne Love Run 5K

Join Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach on Saturday, February 11th, as they host their 8th Annual Love Run 5K to benefit Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. Registration begins at 8am at Thalia Elementary School and the race starts at 9am.  Please contact Kristina Berney at kristina.berney@vbschools.com for more information, to register or to sponsor the event.

Jersey Mike's Subs Month of Giving for CHKD

Throughout the entire month of March Jersey Mike's Subs is making a difference for the kids! Jersey Mike's will be donating a percentage of sales throughout the entire month to CHKD. Customers will also be able to make a donation at the register while visiting any of the local Jersey Mike's locations. The Month of Giving culminates with "Make A Difference Day" on Friday, March 30th. On this day customers will receive a FREE regular sub with a minimum donation of $1 made to CHKD. Be sure to grab your friends and family and visit a Jersey Mike's Subs in March to help the kids!

Farm Fresh Round Up

Shoppers at area Farm Fresh stores can "round up" their grocery bills to the next even dollar- or even add more dollars- with the additional money benefitting the children treated for cancer and other blood disorders at CHKD's childhood cancer program.

Mambo Room Dance-a-thon

Join Mambo Room for their 4th Annual Dance for a Cause Dance-a-thon on Saturday, April 21st from 11am-11pm. Raise funds for Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters while dancing the night away! Dance lessons of all different styles will be available throughout the day along with special performances from local dance groups and much much more! Proceeds benefit CHKD. Grab your running (or walking) shoes for the 6th Annual family-oriented 5k and 1 mile fun run to benefit Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. The event starts and ends at the Lytle Law parking lot, 11801 Canon Blvd., Newport News, with the course running through the beautiful City Center and Oyster Point area.
