Dr. Hollander attended Tufts University School of Medicine after taking a commission as an officer in the United States Air Force. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Travis Air Force Base in California and Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
After completing his residency, Dr. Hollander practiced as a general pediatrician at Misawa Air Base in Japan for three years. He then completed his fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at the University of Washington and Seattle Children's Hospital.
While in Seattle, Dr. Hollander earned his masters degree in health administration from the University of Washington.
