As a military spouse, Hartless has had the opportunity to travel and practice in a variety of clinical settings. She began her career as a nurse resident in the emergency department at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, then moved to Florida where she worked as a pediatric hematology/oncology nurse and also cared for patients on the pediatric medical-surgical floor.

In 2014, she relocated to Virginia and joined CHKD as an office triage nurse before deciding to further her education.

Hartless obtained her master of science in nursing and is grateful to return to CHKD as a nurse practitioner. She enjoys traveling, photography, and spending time with her family exploring the zoo, aquarium, and other local museums and attractions.
