Bio

Educated at Harvard, Dr. St. Clair has served in leadership roles for almost 30 years at CHKD, including chief of the department of orthopedics, surgical director of orthopedics, vice president of Children's Health Network, vice president of surgical affairs,and president of the CHKD professional staff. He is a member of the clinical faculty of Eastern Virginia Medical School as assistant professor of orthopedics and serves as the program director of pediatric orthopedic residency training at CHKD.

Dr. St. Clair is the founding and senior staff member of the orthopedics and sports medicine division at CHKD and has a special interest in treating scoliosis and spinal deformities, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular diseases, limb lengthening and deformity correction, and treatment of congenital deformities. He has worked with the spinal implant industry to help develop and design spinal instrumentation for use in early onset scoliosis and other pediatric spine deformities. He has also worked in conjunction with Dr. John Birknes to formulate and apply the latest surgical techniques to treat complex and challenging pediatric spinal deformities and helped develop CHKD's spasticity management program, a multidisciplinary clinic designed to treat cerebral palsy patients. He also has served as the orthopedic surgery attending at the spina bifida clinic.
