College: Florida State University

Graduate school: Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine

Sifen became interested in orthopedics during high school through involvement with sports while watching injured athletes rehabilitate and return to the field. As a junior, she took an anatomy and sports medicine class that included shadowing local orthopedist Dr. Michael Romash in the office and in surgery. After that, she knew she wanted a career in orthopedic surgery.

She attended Florida State University and majored in exercise physiology while playing on FSU's women’s softball team, which made it to the Women's College World Series in 2004. After completing graduate school, she ended up in the same office and operating room that had started off her interest with orthopedics and worked hand-in-hand with Dr. Romash for the next five years, treating all types of lower extremity injuries and deformities in the office, operating room, and in patient consultations.

She has always enjoyed children and is excited to combine her love of children with her love of orthopedics here at CHKD.

In her spare time, Sifen travels abroad and has enjoyed numerous backpacking trips to Europe, Central America, and Southeast Asia. She has also traveled to Israel where she has participated in the Maccabiah Games (Jewish Olympics), volunteered on an ambulance, and studied at Tel Aviv University in an overseas program.
