Low Acid Clears Diet
Low acid clears diets are recommended for patients that have mouth sores, heartburn, or stomach problems.
Some of the fluids that are allowed for a regular clears diet, such as fruit juices (even apple juice), have too much acid for patients with these conditions.
If you are asked to follow a “low acid” clears diet please use this chart as a guideline. If food is not listed in the “Food Allowed” column do not give it to your child. Milk, vegetables, bread/starch, fruit and fruit juices, meat and fat are not allowed.
