Who are your surgeons?
CHKD’s program is affiliated with Columbia University in New York -- home to one of the nation’s top cardiovascular surgery programs – and is directed by Columbia faculty member and full-time CHKD pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon Christian Gilbert, MD. Our staff also includes pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon John Artrip, MD and cardiovascular anesthesiologist Jimmy Windsor, MD.
Who else will care for my child?
At CHKD, you’ll find a team of dedicated professionals committed to the physical and emotional wellbeing of your child. Dr. Gilbert and his colleagues work hand-in-hand with CHKD’s cardiology department and pediatric intensive care team to provide comprehensive care before, during and after surgery. CHKD's experienced medical and surgical staff also includes a certified pediatric nurse practitioner, a social worker and a talented cardiac surgery team whose members have special training and experience in pediatrics.
What services do you provide?
CHKD offers a variety of services to diagnose and treat children’s heart problems, including consultations for expectant parents regarding conditions diagnosed in an unborn child. All of our care, from the simplest lab test to the most intricate surgery, is designed to meet the unique medical and developmental needs of children. When and where do you see patients?
