Clinic
The clinic is open to children 3 and older who have a
body mass index (BMI) of
85% or above and a physician's referral.
- Consultations with:
- Physician
- Registered dietitian
- Physical therapist
- Licensed clinical social worker
- Registered nurse
- Create individual weight management goals and plans
- Year long follow up
What to Expect During Your Visit
For your first clinic appointment your child will meet with the Healthy You for Life Medical Director. The first visit takes about two hours so be sure to bring a healthy drink and snack. Also have your child dress in comfortable clothes and shoes. Subsequent appointments are with the registered dietician, physical therapist, and licensed clinical social worker.
Schedule
Clinics are held at the Health Center at Oakbrooke in Chesapeake on the first, second and third Tuesday of the month. The fourth Tuesday of the month at the
Health and Surgery Center in Newport News.
Follow-up Visits
Additional clinic appointments will be based on your child's personal assessment. We typically follow the child for one year.
