Outpatient Clinic

The Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at CHKD is designed to offer optimal medical treatment and patient and family comfort. Creatively decorated with a nautical/beach motif, the clinic includes 12 exam rooms, five treatment bays, three isolation rooms, general infusion and treatment area and two procedure rooms. Many procedures are performed in clinic with anesthesiologists so that parents and children can be together and recovery can occur right in our clinic. Added benefits include a resource room with internet access, an on-site pharmacy and a child life area. The child life area contains toys, arts and crafts and video games so that patients of all ages can be as occupied and as comfortable as possible during long days in clinic.

Care is delivered by a health care team that involves the patient, family, physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, education coordinators, pharmacists, child life therapists, chaplains, nutritionists, social workers and medical assistants.
