"I was born in Norfolk, but grew up in northern Virginia. Starting work at CHKD was like coming home and I am very impressed by the organization, resources and people here."
Dr. Shana Crabtree
American Board of Pediatrics
Medical School: University of Louisville
Residency: University of Virginia
Fellowship: Baylor College of Medicine
During Dr. Crabtree's fellowship training at Texas Children's, she had a strong interest in the lung transplant and pulmonary
hypertension program. She has taken the opportunity to apply her experiences in both programs to her work at CHKD and is an active member of the
NICU pulmonary hypertension team at CHKD.
Dr. Crabtree also enjoys working closely with other
specialties to care for my patients as a whole, stressing nutrition and development as keys to healthy lung growth. She encourages participation in as many activities and sports as possible. Dr. Crabtree has moderate persistent asthma, but it did not stop her from playing lacrosse in
college. Her goal is to have her patients on the least amount of medicine to
allow them to live fulfilling and unlimited lives.
