The number of children who participate in organized sports has grown by leaps and bounds over the past decade -- and so have the number of injuries they experience.

Each year, doctors treat more than 3 million sports-related injuries in children and teens. And no matter how grown-up these athletes may look on the playing field or the balance beam, when they're hurt, they need medical care that addresses their unique needs as growing young people. That's why Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters -- the name parents have trusted for more than 40 years for their children's health care -- has created the region's only Sports Medicine program just for young athletes.

CHKD's Sports Medicine program offers a comprehensive spectrum of services to young athletes.  Our services include primary care sports medicine, orthopedic surgery, advanced diagnostics and sports-specific rehabilitation and physical therapy.  We treat athletes of all sizes and ability levels.  Our care is backed by CHKD's full complement of pediatric health services and is provided by experts who understand the special demands that sports place on young, growing bodies.
