Vice President, Mental Health Services
Duties
Warburton serves CHKD and the community by leading the system-wide delivery of highly reliable and evidence-based mental healthcare services, with responsibility for business strategy, regulatory matters, and collaboration with community stakeholders.
Background
A native Virginian, Warburton brings 20 years of leadership experience in clinical program development and hospital administration to the region. Previously, Warburton served as an active duty officer in the US Air Force’s biomedical sciences corps, providing and overseeing care for fellow service members and their families at several installations. He continued this service after transition back to the private sector, in successive roles as program director and then CEO of mental health specialty hospitals in Virginia, Texas, and Georgia, where he oversaw completion of several multi-million dollar facility expansion projects.
Education
Warburton graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia with a dual BA degree in psychology and cognitive science, and also holds an MA in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro and an MBA with triple concentrations in healthcare management, leadership, and finance from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
