Reports to department Manager/Director. Under supervision of the physician performs diagnostic and technical procedures and assists physician in all aspects of cardiac invasive and non-invasive testing, diagnostic laboratory tests and procedures following established policies, procedures and regulations; educates patients and families; participates in research projects; maintains cath lab and other diagnostic equipment; initiates on-going quality assurance; maintains cath lab regulatory requirements and other accreditation requirements; establishes and updates cath lab policies and procedures; ensures continuing education requirements.

Echocardiograph Sonographer - Cardiac Diagnostic Unit

Schedule: Full-Time w/call

Shift: Days/Evenings/Nights Weekend/Holiday Call

Under the general direction of the Department Director/Manager, performs noninvasive echocardiography diagnostic testing on pediatric, fetal and adult patients with ability to identify normal and congenital heart malformations as well as repaired and unrepaired anatomy. Assesses ultrasound images for identification of problem areas for focused review of images and data. Identifies which images to record to film for physician review. Provides echocardiography services following established policies, procedures and regulations.  Educates patients and families.  Oversees the daily operation of echocardiograph services and equipment.  Participates in research projects.  Initiates on-going quality assurance.  Assists with creating and updating echocardiograph policies and procedures.  Ensures continuing education requirements are met.  Demonstrates knowledge of noninvasive cardiac diagnostic testing as well as operation and maintenance of equipment including electrocardiograms, Holter monitor application and screening, and exercise stress testing.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Under the direction of the department director, the ED Case Manager is responsible for coordinating the case management care plan to meet the individual's/care giver's needs, promoting quality, cost effective outcomes and providing timely utilization review (UR).  Educates and empowers individual/care giver toward self care and independence.  The ED Case Manager collaboratively works to carry out the assessment, planning, facilitation, care coordination, evaluation and advocacy options and services to meet the individual's and family's comprehensive health needs.  Assesses the patient's plan of care and develops, implements, monitors and documents the utilization of resources and progress of the patient through their care.  Facilitates options and services to meet the patient's health care needs.  Work involves identifying and resolving barriers that may hinder effective patient care and patient progression to a safe discharge in a timely manner.  Works with the admission team to assign the correct status to the patient (observation vs. inpatient admission). Identifies patients/families who are using the emergency department as their medical home and helps identify a more appropriate medical home for the patient. Director of Patient Care Services, Mental Health and Psychiatric Services - Nursing Administration

The Director reports to the Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer and to the Vice President for Mental Health Services. Works collaboratively with the Director, Mental Health Service Line and the Medical Director for Mental Health. Has overall responsibility for daily planning, work scheduling, managing designated service personnel, and coordinating and directing the workflow and functions of the Mental Health acute inpatient unit.  Promotes the safety, efficiency, and optimization of clinical practices. The director retains 24-hour responsibility, but may utilize supervisory staff to operationalize activities. Delegates to and supervises personnel, solves problems, makes decisions and develops systems and processes for successful integration and implementation.  Independently carries out and is accountable for daily operations and other negotiated/assigned activities. Seeks guidance from the vice presidents for unusual or unanticipated circumstances that require deviation from financial/operational policies and standards of practice.  

  •  Facilitates collaborative partnerships with Mental Health staff to ensure service line development, management, and growth.
  •  Provides leadership and direction for acute inpatient mental health units.
  • Accountable for overall operation, direction and delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients on a twenty-four hour basis. 
  • Implements evidence based nursing practice to achieve operational excellence, facilitating respectful and productive interdisciplinary collaborations, promoting and monitoring a culture of efficient, results and customer oriented services, as well as coordinating staff educational opportunities and certification processes.   
  • Directs and manages contracted services to meet patient and organization needs.
  • In collaboration with Director, Mental Health Service Line, manages research and programmatic grants for service area, develops processes to promote quality of service, budgetary compliance, and provides leadership to other team members.  
  • A high level of independence in performance of the role and/or solution of problems is expected, however, demonstrated cooperation and collaboration is equally essential for successful functioning.  
  •  Monitors operations and quality standards to assure compliance with governmental regulations and the established standards     of accrediting agencies, including federal research regulations. 
  •  Maintains appropriate standards of nursing practice and standards of care throughout the Mental Health units.
