"I grew up in the area and I have always been interested in working with kids. During my internship, I completed an elective rotation in the NICU here at CHKD; I immediately knew that my dream would be to advocate for the nutrition of these babies and watch them grow! I very much enjoy and am grateful to be able to work as a part of the CHKD family!"

Bio
Lena is a clinical dietitian in the NICU who is passionate about helping each infant receive the nutrition necessary to improve their growth and developmental outcomes.
Lena grew up in Hampton Roads and has always enjoyed working with children. During her dietetic internship, she had the opportunity to complete an elective rotation in the CHKD NICU. After experiencing the interdisciplinary teamwork and teaching atmosphere, she knew that her dream would be to join the CHKD family in the NICU.
Lena enjoys coordinating each patient’s nutrition and working with their families to ensure individualized care. She also values the opportunities to introduce resident physicians and other healthcare professionals to neonatal nutrition. This education helps to facilitate a team-based approach to optimize each infant’s nutrition. Most of all, she loves watching infants grow, develop their own personality, and finally graduate from the NICU!
