Bio
Boyd grew up in Hampton Roads, and earned her bachelor's
degree in biology from James Madison University. She then worked at EVMS as
a research associate and also completed two master's degrees at EVMS, one in public health and another to become a physician assistant.
Following graduation, Boyd came to work at CHKD as a physician assistant in the congenital heart surgery program for more than 3 years.
She then accepted a Baylor College of Medicine faculty position as chief physician assistant in the cardiothoracic surgery department at Children's Hospital of San Antonio in Texas.
After more than three years in San Antonio, she wanted to be closer to her family in Hampton Roads so she next worked as a physician assistant for Emergency Physicians of Tidewater in emergency departments throughout the area for three years.
Boyd missed caring for children and their families, so she returned to CHKD as a physician assistant with the pediatric surgery team.
When she's not working, Boyd enjoys spending time with her husband, and three energetic boys. She loves spending time with them outdoors, camping in their RV or enjoying a day on their boat.
