Bio
When Dr. Satin-Smith started
medical school, she wanted to be a geneticist. But the more time she spent in
endocrinology, the more she discovered her passion in a field where she may not be able
to cure patients but can make them feel better quickly.
She ended up completing her fellowship in endocrinology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Taking care
of children with diabetes mellitus allows Dr. Satin-Smith to get to know her patients and
their families very well as they negotiate the ups and downs of this chronic
condition.
"It is never easy but it is always rewarding, says Dr. Satin Smith. "Summer
camp, family camp and all the activities we do outside of the office ensure
that we develop the community that it takes to nurture these children into
adulthood and good health."

A Note From Dr. Satin-Smith
"I moved to CHKD from Philadelphia. I love that CHKD is a free standing children's hospital with a diverse, well-trained staff that provides care that is the equal of the big names up and down the coast."
